Deluxe Chocolate Marshmallow Bars (Mary Smith)F

Chocolate marshmallow bar.

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup butter
  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 ⅓ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp cocoa
  • 1 ½ cups chocolate chips
  • 3 tbsp margarine
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 2 cups rice krispies
  • 4 cups mini marshmallows

Instructions

  • Cream together butter and sugar.
  • Add eggs and vanilla; mix well.
  • Mix together flour, baking powder, salt, and cocoa.
  • Stir dry ingredients into butter mixture.
  • Spread batter into a greased cookie sheet.
  • Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15-18 minutes.
  • While baking, melt chocolate chips, margarine, and peanut butter over low heat or in a double boiler, stirring often.
  • When smooth, stir in rice krispies.
  • Spread the chocolate mixture carefully over the marshmallows on the baked base.
  • Cut into squares.
  • Sprinkle about 4 cups mini marshmallows over the hot base.
  • Put back in the oven for 2-3 minutes until marshmallows melt slightly.
