Apple Crisp
Classic apple crisp with cinnamon apples and a buttery oat topping.
Ingredients
Filling
- 8 apples medium, peeled and cut into chunks
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ½ tsp ground nutmeg
- ¼ tsp salt
Topping
- ¾ cup all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ½ cup unsalted butter cold and cubed
- 1 cup rolled oats

- A mix of tart and sweet apples works best.
- Great served warm with vanilla ice cream or caramel.
Instructions
- Heat the oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- Toss all filling ingredients together in a large bowl, then spread the mixture evenly in the dish.
- For the topping, whisk the flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon together.
- Cut in the cold butter with a fork or pastry cutter until the mixture is crumbly, then stir in the oats.
- Sprinkle the topping over the apples.
- Bake for about 45 minutes, until the topping is golden and the apples are bubbling around the edges.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
- Cover leftovers and refrigerate for up to 5 days.
